(2nd June, 2016)
“The arrival of MV Pacific Pearl at Nuku’alofa Wharf on Thursday 2nd June 2016 will join the continued-celebration of events in the Kingdom of Tonga”
At around 6:30Am on Thursday morning the 2nd of June 2016, the passengers and crews of MV Pacific Pearl will enjoy the taste of the ongoing royal celebrations that had been set and scheduled to honor the Queen Mother’s 90th Birthday, and not to mention other events that took place prior to these Royal events.
Interestingly though, the arrival of MV Pacific Pearl would exactly be on the day of the official opening of the Tonga Parliament for 2016, where there will be huge number of locals and overseas witnessing this special event in Nuku’alofa, and so do the passengers and crews of MV Pacific Pearl .
The occasion of the Tonga Parliament official opening however, could be regarded as a coincidence, as this was the case in 2015 where a Cruise Ship was docked at the Nuku’alofa Wharf while the passengers enjoyed the marching of the Tongan Secondary School students around Nuku’alofa to show respect to their King, Nobles and Government.
It is then to the tourism businesses and the people of the Kingdom of Tonga to take advantage from the Government initiatives in promoting the industry throughout the whole of Tonga. The MV Pacific Pearl will depart Nuku’alofa to another Tongan destination, Vava’u, at around 6:30PM on Thursday 2nd of June 2016 before it takes the route to Rarotonga.
